Founder, X Tutoring · Toronto

I build things from scratch and then check whether they work. I've started a tutoring company, run operations at a startup, and sold financial products at a fintech.

I studied math at the University of Toronto and spent five years teaching in every setting I could find, from one-on-one tutoring to high school classrooms to a UofT outreach program for kids in underserved communities. Along the way I was an executive assistant at a high-growth startup, handling finance, HR and project operations. Today I run X Tutoring and work part-time at Neo Financial. Next, I'm heading into the Master of Public Policy at UofT.

Can you trust a self-reported resolution metric?

Independent analysis · 2026

Banks tell the US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau they resolve complaints with relief seven times more often than fintechs. I analyzed 344,000+ complaints and hand-coded 240 complaint narratives to check what that self-reported number actually measures. It turns out it drifts far from what the complaints describe, at banks and fintechs alike.

X Tutoring

Founder · Aug 2026 – present

I started X Tutoring after leaving teacher's college. The classroom wasn't the right fit for me, but I'd seen how far behind a lot of students in Canadian schools had fallen, and I still wanted to help them. So I built a tutoring company from the ground up: the brand, the website, hiring tutors, custom curricula, and every client relationship.

Online Playful Math, Robertson Program

Dr. Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study, University of Toronto · 2023 – 2025

Three years with a UofT program that teaches inquiry-based math to kids from underserved communities. I taught groups of students, mentored high schoolers running their own sessions, maintained the guidebook every instructor uses, wrote curriculum-aligned lesson series, and ran the program's YouTube channel and analytics.

Why public policy
